what is a good Ovation low action guitar acoustic/electric, for smaller older hands, how do we categorize ‘em
Grazie,

You’ll have to go to a good guitar shop and try some out. The action on a guitar can be changed as part of the “set-up”. That’s why you should probably avoid the big places like Guitar Center – they sell stuff right out of the box. A good shop will have a repair guy who carefully sets the guitars up before sale, and you can get the action as low as you want. If you are anywhere near LA, then go to McCabes in Santa Monica. There are some on-line places that do set up – Elderly.com is one. Folk of the Wood is another.
I personally don’t like Ovations – look over the Alvarez Artist models or the Takamine G340E. The Epiphone D10SE has a thin, almost electric style neck. Try ‘em out!!
It’s too hard to say here. You have to go the a decent guitar shop and play them for yourself to see which one fits what your looking for, I could give you a large selection here but to me that wouldn’t work, you have to get the guitar into your own hands to see what feels good to you, and is the action what your looking for. Many people have asked me the same question and I tell them all the same thing. I did take one person to the guitar store and the ones that I selected didn’t suit her, they didn’t feel right in her hands, so you see your the only one who can select the guitar that’s right for you !!
