Susie Said (original song)
"SUSIE SAID" Susie said, "Where are your morals?" I must have dropped them when I stumbled through the door. She smiled, touched my arm and tugged me on the sleeve. Leaning closer, she whispers, "Time to leave." So I rise to meet her eyes. Susie led me from the darkness and for a moment we're the only two alive. Nervous emotions that we savor secretly, she paints a picture of how good it's going to be, and she's right ...then the night: Susie said, "Welcome to heaven, though we both know that I'm a bandage for your pain." A clock ticks down the treasured seconds of a kiss; a clever mixture of the joy and emptiness we both know, but try not to show. Susie said, "I must be going. The sky is lighter and the kids will soon be up." When can I see you? She said, "It all depends. Sometimes encounters with imaginary friends make you feel like you're real." Susie fades away to sunshine, but, after all, she was no ordinary girl. And, once again, I am a solitary soul whose fantasies disguise the loneliness I hold inside my head ...Susie said ...Susie said Michael Reed 2009 © Lyrics and music by Michael Reed. Nice original…good sound and playing
Nice chord structure, great lyrics. I’d give it a 9.5 out of 10 and only because it lacks bass and drums. Super~!

I love the way the Am drops down through G to F the first time through the chorus then lands on F# the second time around. The melody on the D to G is quite soothing and fits well. I also dig the Gsus pull off that you toss in during the small interlude before the verse starts again.
It is easy to see that you like to craft the full picture and your hammes/pulloffs/fills are so lovely.
Faving, sharing, subbing and sharing. Please post more originals.
I suppose that it could be the fact that I just listened to a couple of your Beatle covers, but there is a strong Fab Four presence in this song. the melody of “when I stumbled through the door” just drips of their early stuff, maybe something off of Help! or even Yellow Submarine.
Lovely strings. They really work. Keeping them a little softer makes it add a feathery touch rather than cheesy.
I knew you would have some harmonies in here. The song just wanted it.
