Comments on Yamaha A.R.T. Pickup system for Acoustic Guitar
Nice Guitar when it works, BUT!!!
I have an APX-6; costs & looks approx. the same as this model. IT DOES NOT WORK & CAN’T BE FIXED.
The pre-amp failed. Took it to Yamaha for repair, was told “the necessary components are no longer made”. END OF STORY.
CONSIDER THIS: When your current model stops working, you will need to buy a new one because Yamaha’s have an EXPIRATION DATE.
I’ve been emailing Yamaha for about 3 years and I have yet to receive ONE SINGLE REPLY.
BUYER BEWARE!!!!
dude looks like jimmy page.
what’s the name of the last song?. sounds really cool
tabs for performance 4?
Sound like dung
does anyone know the name of the last piece he played?
this dude is playing gringo music. thats some cool stuff!!
Anyone know what kind of amp/PA he may be playing through?
Yamaha Forever!!!
body style. the cpx is a jumbo style body. the apx is more of a concert body style, but with an oval shaped sound hole. they both have the A.R.T. pickups (except the 500 models which just have a ribbon transducer under the bridge)
What is the difference between APX and CPX ?
Oh my gooooooooood… that guitar makes me cry… it’s like a gutar from heaven… loooooooooooove it…
It sounds like a banjo, I’d say. Love the APX range for features and playability, but the demo here doesn’t sound great at all to my ears.
The Cole Clarks are nice, I agree. Different class altogether. The APX will rival anything in playability though – in that respect, they are VERY good.
The video here doesn’t paint a good picture for the APX’s plugged in sound, mind you!
I have yamaha cpx15(the first series) , it’s amazing guitar , and if I’m gona buy a new guitar-it will be YAMAHA again!!
I prefer Yamaha’s old system 41. But I run it with a mag on a seperate output, like someone below said, the only piezo’s that sound natural are cole clarke and Maton systems, as far as I’ve been able to tell so far.
what is the difference with the electronic of a takamine G series?
it sounds good plugged in, but acoustically the CPX and APX are nothing to die for. tbh u would be better getting a Taylor with their nice pickups, then the guitar will own acoustically and plugged in
i have a cole clark fat lady..plugged in..it sounds like a guitar. this one sounds like pick up, very ‘plastic’ like.
i got this thing
I want this thing! It just sounds like a dream.
